Dena Paige Fischer is a Brooklyn-based sculptor who creates sculptures, functional objects and invented tools for making marks. Working across wood, metal, concrete, among other materials, she alters familiar forms to complicate their intended actions and invite experimentation, play, and physical engagement. Many of her sculptures are activated by the body, producing drawings, scratches, tracks, and other traces through movement, resistance, and chance.
