The studio of Amy Lincoln and Kevin Curran (occasionally also known as the Laundromat Gallery) will feature the two artists’ work, along with works by Caetlynn Booth and Sarah McDougald Kohn.
Curran’s sculpture explores myth and masculinity in sculptures of astronauts, cowboys, GI Joes, eagles, and football players carved from rigid insulation foam. Lincoln paints detailed acrylic paintings of trees, houseplants, flowers, and people with an emphasis on color and pattern. Booth’s work features pared-down imagery as a point of departure for an investigation of the spiritual in painting. Kohn makes abstract, wall-based sculpture that often references the body and experiments with a variety of materials.
