Working Studio: Join me as I prepare for my next installation of Dis-Embodied/Re-Embodied. An ongoing and evolving installation, this iteration will be at Figment NYC, June 9th & 10th, on Governor’s Island.

Come for a behind the scenes glimpse of the final preparation of this weekend-long, audience participatory event.

Dis-Embodied/Re-Embodied is a site-specific installation which consists of larger-than-life photographs. Five foot tall female body parts and limbs have been manipulated almost to the point of non-recognition, distilled back to their basic elements of lines and curves.
Blown-up to hyper-real size, they can no longer be compared to any “ideal”; instead they can once again be viewed and appreciated for their inherent beauty.

Artist Bio

Alexis Pace an NYC based artist and designer, her work often walks the thin line between the two disciplines. With a background in sculpture and an education in Industrial Design (MiD from Pratt Institute Brooklyn, NY) her passion for manipulation of materials in evident in all avenues of her work.

Her background in Industrial Design has inspired her to mix different materials and mediums as the inspiration dictates. Sculpture, photography, mixed media, and popsicle sticks.

Her recent experiments have been treading the line between organic decay, destruction and manipulation.
