INVISIBLE FURNACE, featuring Jason Mones, Ryan Estep, and Jessica Sanders
Curbs and Stoops Active Space,
566 Johnson Ave., 2nd Floor
Opening Reception – June 1st, 7pm -10pm, Sponsored by Brooklyn Brewery
Open Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 1 – 6 PM

Jason Mones’ raised fists and clenched hammers coalesce with Ryan Estep’s soap and cymbals and objects-come-drawings, to meet Jessica Sanders’ shoots and sheets, fur and beeswax. The works radiate totemic powers, creating modern mythology born from the simultaneously shocking and mundane.

Invisible Furnace will be open June 1 – July 1, 2012
hours: Friday-Sunday, 12-6 pm
Buzz #5 for entry.

The Active Space is a progressive arts center in the fast growing community of Bushwick, Brooklyn. Once a feather factory, this three story 100 year old building was completely gutted, redesigned and renovated by David C. Welner of Welner Associates, to become the new home to artists’ studios as well as a new 1600 sf art gallery.

Directions: L train to Jefferson Street. Exit at Wyckoff Avenue. Walk downhill to Flushing Avenue. Cross Flushing and turn left. Take first right onto Stewart Avenue. The Active Space is on the right-hand side at the corner of Stewart and Johnson Avenue with an entrance on Stewart.
