DOT Bike Safety Programming at BOS2012!
Think you know everything about biking in NYC? Change your view. The NYC Department of Transportation brings a fun and informative event called Truck’s Eye View to Bushwick Open Studios. Cyclists, pedestrians and trucks are interacting more and more in industrial areas like Bushwick. So how can artists and trucks live in harmony? Stop by Harrison Place between Bogart St and Morgan St for a firsthand look at what it’s like to be a truck driver. Sit in the driver’s seat and learn about the dangers of blind spots and what you need to do to remain safe. Whether you’re a cyclist, a pedestrian or a car driver, learning how to safely share the road with a truck is invaluable, and this exhibit provides a unique perspective that will change the way you behave near trucks.
Happy BOS2012: June 1-3, 2012 — it’s our 6th birthday!
We’re creating an open and inclusive event that benefits the neighborhood by sharing artistic projects and encouraging community interaction and dialogue. BOS brings the neighborhood’s thousands of artists and performers out into the streets and in view of each other, other community residents, and the general public – we hope to see you here!

Join the BOS2012 All-Stars!
Arts in Bushwick is an all-volunteer organization, and we need you! This year, one of our top priorities is to engage a large number of Festival participants as volunteers and organizers. We have seen an outstanding level of support for Bushwick Open Studios, and have a wonderful team in place, but there are still many integral roles to fill. This is where you can play a major part of making BOS happen by becoming a BOS2012 All-Star.
The All-Stars are a leadership team, committed to making the festival a success through organizing their neighbors and assisting with festival operations. All-Stars will receive special recognition in the festival program & web directory in exchange for committing 10 or more volunteer hours to help organize and produce the festival.
To become an All-Star or get more info about general volunteering, check out our volunteer needs, come to a meeting or mixer, and join our Google Group to stay in the loop. You can also email specific volunteer related questions to firstname.lastname@example.org at any time.
