Life in New York City occludes a relationship with the night sky. Yet without fail, a few gulps of light from our galaxy splashed across our speckled dome brings sublime feelings and a sense of ancientness.
This work starts there and overlays sci-fi inspiration (Seveneves by Neal Stephenson) to imagine a future sky with a mega structure running through it, at a god-like scale, with accompanying incomprehensibility.
I wonder if future technology can become sufficiently detached from understanding that the awe it engenders is closer to religion than science.
