Claudia Chaseling was born in Munich, Germany is an international artist working now from studios in Berlin and Canberra, Australia. She received two Masters degrees in Visual Art, from the University of the Arts in Berlin and the Australian National University in Canberra, respectively.
Recent exhibitions include solo presentations at 45cbm, Staatliche Kunsthalle Baden-Baden, Germany, 68 projects, Berlin, Krohne Art Collection Duisburg, at the Volta10 in Basel, Switzerland and at Art Helix Gallery in New York City. Recent groups presentation, in between others were held at Molly Krom Gallery in New York City, Magic Beans Gallery, Berlin and she participated at the X-Border Biennial in Rovaniemi, Finland.
Major grants and scholarships received in Australia and Germany – include those of the German DAAD, the Samstag Scholarship, the Studio Award of the Karl Hofer Society, the Australia Council for the Arts Grant in 2014 and the 2015/16 artsACT Project Grant. She has taken part in a number of international artists residencies at Burlington City Arts, the Texas A&M University, at Yaddo in New York and at the International Studio and Curatorial Program in New York City. The publishing house “Verlag für zeitgenoessische Kunst und Theorie” is publishing her first extensive monograph and upcoming in September is her first solo exhibition with Galerie Dirk Halverscheid in Munich, Germany. Claudia is as well a PhD candidate, Doctor of Philosophy in Visual Arts at the Australian National University in Canberra. Most recently Claudia’s work was chosen for the corporate design of the new Dell XPS Precision 15 inch laptop and in a worldwide campaign.
