Marks on paper can act as text, here the marks reference page architecture. My work crosses back and forth over the border between expectations of reading and looking. I make books as well as slices intended inhabit a wall. A poem on a wall requires standing and reading, and time. But when the poem is verbally unreadable yet visually suggestive, the labor of standing and the labor of reading are minimized and the time required to experience it is open, fluid – the experience is unenclosed.
